At SIGMA Euro-Med I moderated the conference’s most exciting  panel on AI in iGaming, exploring whether it’s the industry’s saviour or a Black Mirror warning? We discussed how AI can transform compliance and player protection, while also debating the darker risks it brings if left unchecked.

I moderated sessions on the toughest challenges facing operators, from AI-driven fraud to evolving compliance demands. The event brought regulators, operators and experts together to share solutions and shape a safer future for iGaming, including the EGBA, and the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board.

We explored Peru’s newly regulated market, weighing up the opportunities and challenges it brings. A big focus was on where money laundering gaps can be closed and how operators can build stronger safeguards, while also forging new relationships across one of Latin America’s most exciting iGaming landscapes.

At SIGMA Manila 2025 I spoke on two panels: the rise of the Philippines iGaming market and how both players and operators can recover stolen crypto. I also gave an interview to SiGMA News on compliance, exploring how KYC and AML are shaping payments in the region, and another to the Manila Times.

In April 2025 I was back at the Transamerica Expo Centre as both a speaker and on the Sumsub booth. The initial buzz around Brazil’s new licensing had calmed since 2024, but the show still delivered the same energy, packed halls and nonstop conversations that make São Paulo such a standout stop.

At Malta Finance Week I led a panel on reimagining embedded finance and how it’s reshaping customer journeys by weaving financial services into new platforms. We also explored how AI, blockchain and APIs are driving the next wave of innovation across financial solutions.

At ICE Barcelona I focused on the darker side of iGaming, bonus abuse, affiliate fraud, collusion and the way AI is making it tougher to catch fraudsters. The event was also about solutions, sharing how the industry is adapting and what’s next in staying one step ahead, and floating an exciting new Sumsub concept.

In Malta I spoke on balancing security, privacy and resilience against cyber threats, while also spending time at the Sumsub booth with operators and partners. Conversations ranged from AI-driven data monitoring to crafting smarter bonuses and unpacking the latest moves in Brazilian regulation.

At EDGE Dublin I led workshops on what casinos can learn from poker’s rich PvP history and the new risks this vertical brings. A big focus was the rise of AI bots in poker, the Skynet moment everyone’s talking about, and how the industry can adapt to stay ahead.

I moderated panels with the EGBA on the toughest issues facing iGaming today, from emerging fraud schemes to safer gambling and the role of AI in spotting threats. I also closed the event with Maarten Haijer in a session on building trust, exploring how operators can make safety a true part of their brand.

I joined panels covering some of the biggest shifts in Asian iGaming. Building trust, fine-tuning KYC and AML, and protecting data while exploring the surge of new opportunities across the region. A big theme was the rise of Gen-Z players and how the industry is reshaping casinos to match their expectations.

Next.io Malta was all about pulling back the curtain on fraud in iGaming. Over two packed days, we dived into bonus abuse, affiliate scams, collusion and the growing role of AI in hiding tracks. We left with new ideas, fresh contacts and a stronger sense of just how high the stakes really are.

São Paulo was electric. SIGMA ’24 was the place to plug straight into Brazil’s iGaming boom. I left with fresh insights on regulation, a sharper view of the risks, and a network of brilliant local minds. For anyone serious about Brazil, this event was essential.
